How to Request Event funding FROM RHA
RHA provides funding to the following groups. Please review all requirements for your group before submitting the agenda request form.
R&CL Staff & Student Leaders (includes Hall Councils, Resident Assistants, and Lead Staff)
There are no additional requirements for R&CL Staff & Student Leaders, as long as the event or program is taking place in their community.
UCSB Departments
UCSB Departments must be able to provide RHA with an invoice for the approved funding amount. All checks will be made out to UC Regents & it is the responsibility of the department to deposit the check following University procedures.
UCSB Student Organizations
To receive funding from RHA, Student Organizations must have a bank account for the organization (personal bank accounts will not be accepted). All checks will be made out to the organization.
If an organization does not have a bank account, they will not receive funding from RHA.
If an organization is found to have lied about having a bank account, they will not receive the funding they were approved for and they will be ineligible to request funds from RHA indefinitely.
Checks will only be issued to Student Organizations as reimbursements. You must provide all receipts on the check request.
No matter how much the request was approved for, only the amount actually spent will be reimbursed. (Example: RHA approves for $1000, but receipts total $850. Only $850 will be reimbursed.
Student Organizations are subject to the following guidelines for their requests:
Food Expenditures over $500 per year
Students providing professional services (photography, videography, disc jockey, performances, etc.)
Travel or Transportation Costs (including Uber, Lyft, etc.)
Expenses related to club/organization retreats or development opportunities that are only open to club/organization members
Expenses related to off-campus special events, banquets, and picnics (excluding Isla Vista)
Equipment purchases, ONLY rentals are allowed, unless the equipment is to be donated to RHA
Awards, trophies, gifts or scholarships for individuals
Personal items including costumes, tshirts, etc.
Student Engagement & Leadership Account Maintenance Fee
Expenses relating to conferences outside of UCSB

We will only accept requests through DocuSign. DocuSign instructions are available. All Check Requests must be signed by the RHA Financial VP, Hannah Martinez (financevp@rhaucsb.com). Check requests not signed by the RHA Finance VP will not be processed.

Requesting Money
To be placed on the UCSB Residential Housing Association's (RHA) agenda for advertising requests and/or funding requests, please fill out the form by clicking the Agenda Request button to the right.
In order to be placed on the agenda, you and/or your organization must submit the form by 11:59 PM on the Sunday prior to the meeting you are seeking to present at. Submitting this form does not guarantee a spot on our agenda for the following week, so please apply at the latest two weeks before your event.
You must send a representative to present at our Coordinating Board Meetings on Tuesdays @ 6:00 PM at Loma Pelona Center. The Administrative Vice President will notify you if you are approved to present.
*Please Note: Meetings will not take place on a national or academic holiday, or Study and Finals weeks. Requests will not be heard at Coordinating Board meetings if you do not send a representative to present on your organization’s behalf with any relevant information, or if you arrive more than 15 minutes late.

RHA no longer approves flyers to be hung in the residence halls. If you’re interested in flyering in the halls, please take your flyers to the front desk of each community & the building staff will review & post your flyers.
If you receive funding from RHA for an event, the RHA logo must be included on the event flyer. RHA logos can be found in the linked folder.
